Meet Our Minneapolis Tattoo Artists
Four tattoo artists with distinct journeys but shared dedication to precision, custom work, and making your Minneapolis tattoo experience exceptional.
Studio AZ is intentionally small — a four-artist crew, not twenty. That means every tattoo artist our Minneapolis clients work with is hand-picked, fully booked by appointment, and invested in your project from consultation to final heal. Between them our artists cover realism, fine line, black & grey, floral, and calligraphy at our tattoo shop Minneapolis studio. Joan and Andrew are Spanish-first, while Kaelani and Meg work in English — so consultations are fully supported in both languages.
Joan brings five years of self-taught precision from Nicaragua — his detail work in fine line and realism sets a high bar. Andrew brings festival-level experience from conventions in Chicago, Baltimore, and Milwaukee, with a storytelling approach rooted in his Tlaxcala, Mexico heritage. Kaelani, a Minneapolis native, brings a soft, organic hand to black & grey, floral, and calligraphy. And Meg — our apprentice, training under Andrew — offers fine line and black & grey at an accessible rate as she grows toward realism. Together they make Studio AZ one of the few Spanish-speaking tattoo studios in the Twin Cities, with full English support.

Joan truly embodies the saying "excellence is in the details." Coming from Nicaragua to the US has challenged him in more ways than one — and he came out the other side stronger. Joan is wired to continually improve and make a name for himself in Minneapolis.
Coming from Mexico's vibrant Puebla region, Tlaxcala, Andrew brings a blend of local heritage and global tattoo artistry. His journey for mentorships and tattoo education across the US and Latin America has infused his work with diverse techniques and styles, ensuring each piece tells a unique story.
Kaelani Azadi is a Minneapolis tattoo artist working in black & grey, floral, and calligraphy. Her style favors soft, considered shading and clean, deliberate lettering: pieces meant to feel personal rather than borrowed. She tattoos from a simple belief that there's no such thing as a life better than yours, so every piece should be unmistakably, authentically you.
Meg is Studio AZ's apprentice artist, training under Andrew Fernandez in fine line and black & grey, with a growing love for realism. A Minnesota native from Otsego and Plymouth, she pairs a careful, detail-driven hand with something just as valuable in the chair: an easy, open presence that makes clients comfortable from the first hello.
